The Greek word Zoae is used 135 times in the New Testament. It is actually the disciple John who really takes hold of this word and uses it the most. Half of all the uses of this word come from his writings in his Gospel, his Epistle and Revelation.
John’s writings contain some of the most striking uses of this word. Let’s read through some of them aloud and consider the meaning of the word ‘life’, this zoae life.

In the run up to Christmas we have been looking at various characters who feature in the story of Jesus birth. We have looked at the Shepherds, last week we looked at the Wise Men, and this time last year we studied the role and influence of Mary.
This morning we are looking at a character, who whilst being much in the background of the Christmas story, also have a vital role to play.
